National Baseball Hall of Fame
Jackie
was on the final
list of 200 players eligible for election to the National Baseball
Hall of Fame, but was not elected in 2005. The next election year is 2007
- if you are a fan, and think Jackie Jensen belongs in the National Baseball
Hall of Fame, do write to the Veterans
Committee Members who will next vote in 2007.
Heisman Trophy
Jackie
is not listed on the Heisman Trophy website as a winner,
but he was an outstanding college football player, and won a number of
trophies.
Bay Area Sports Hall
of Fame
Jackie Jensen was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1983,
shortly after his death. His widow, Katharine
Jensen, made the acceptance speech on his behalf. Read his biography
